Fibroblasts are the major cells in the dermis which produce
collagen and elastin fibers. The thickness of the dermis varies
from person to person and is affected by age, exposure to sun,
cigarette smoke and environmental pollution among other factors.
With time, cross links are formed between the collagen strands
rendering the fiber less and less elastic. This process leads to
the first visible signs of aging on the face including uneven skin
